A good description is not a creative-writing exercise, it is a checklist: what the video is about in one sentence, where the chapters are, and where the links go. Most of the time spent on it is not thinking up the words, it is reformatting the same three things into the shape YouTube expects — again, for the hundredth video.
This tool skips the reformatting. Paste your chapters as you already have them, paste your links as you already have them, write the one sentence once, and it assembles the block in the order and spacing that pastes straight into the description field. It does not write anything for you and does not look anything up — it is templating, not generation, so what comes out is exactly what you put in, just formatted.
Two more sections are there if you need them, both optional. A sponsor line for a paid mention, since that disclosure needs to be clear and near the top, not buried. And a disclaimer at the very bottom, picked from a few common presets — fair use, affiliate links, sponsored content, not sponsored — so you are not hunting for the exact wording every time you upload.
Frequently asked questions
- What does this actually generate?
- A plain-text description block built from what you type: your one-line summary, an optional sponsor line, a timestamps section built from the chapters you list, a links section, and an optional disclaimer at the bottom. Nothing is looked up or guessed — it is templating, not research.
- Is the sponsor section required?
- No. It only shows up in the output if you fill in a blurb or a link. Leave both blank and the description skips straight from your summary to the timestamps.
- Are the disclaimer presets legal advice?
- No — they are common boilerplate, not legal advice. Read whichever one you pick and edit it so it actually matches what you are disclosing; the wrong disclaimer is worse than none.
- Why do my chapters need to start at 0:00?
- YouTube only turns a list of timestamps into clickable chapters if the first one is exactly 0:00, there are at least three, and each is at least ten seconds apart. Miss the 0:00 line and the same list just sits there as plain text instead of a chapter bar.
- What format should I paste chapters and links in?
- One per line. Chapters: a timestamp, then a space, then the label — "0:00 Intro". Links: a label, a colon, then the URL — "Course: https://…". A bare URL with no label still works; it just gets labelled "Link".
- Is anything uploaded or saved?
- No. Everything you type stays in your browser and is only ever combined into the text block you copy.
