Built for the shots that would ruin something else: mounted to a helmet, a handlebar or a board, or held out in the rain. The lens is very wide, nearly everything sits in focus, stabilisation is built in, and the body takes water and knocks without complaint. Sensor size is what you give up. Anything dim comes out noisy, and that wide lens stretches a face held close to it. Record the audio separately. The internal microphone loses to the slightest wind.
