Blocking
Also called: blocking a scene, staging
Borrowed from theatre, blocking is the choreography of a scene: where someone stands, where they move to, when they turn, and what the camera does while it happens. Even a solo talking-head setup has blocking, because deciding to stand instead of sit, to step towards the lens on a key point, or to move to a second position for the demo is the same decision.
Settling it before the camera rolls saves takes and keeps continuity honest. A hand that jumps position between two shots almost always traces back to nobody having decided where the hand was meant to be.
