Compositing

Any shot with a green screen key, a replaced phone screen, a removed boom mic or an added graphic is a composite. The work sits in the seams. Match black levels and colour temperature between layers, hold edge detail on hair, and add a little grain and motion blur back so the pasted element belongs to the same world as the plate.

Amateur composites usually fail on light direction and edges, which the eye catches instantly even when the viewer cannot say why. Shoot with the composite in mind, evenly lit and with distance behind the subject, and you save hours later.
