Composition
Also called: shot composition
Composition decides where the eye goes and how fast it gets there. Put the subject off centre, keep the eyes near the upper third of the frame, leave room in the direction somebody is looking or moving, and give the background enough distance or blur that the subject separates from it. Most bad framing turns out to be a background problem. One habit is specific to this platform: check the frame at thumbnail size while you shoot, since the same picture often has to sell the click.
