Live poll

Creators start a poll from live chat, viewers pick an option, and the running totals appear for everybody. Used well it does two jobs. It pulls people who were lurking into taking an action, and it hands the host a real result to talk about for the next few minutes. Questions that decide something beat questions that survey something, so asking which build to try next works better than asking what everyone thought of the last one. A poll with nothing riding on it gets a click and then silence.
