Tube light
Also called: LED tube, light stick
Tube lights are pixel-controlled LED sticks, typically 60cm or 120cm long, that put a line of colour into a frame. Their output is soft and low compared with a panel, so they rarely light a face. What they do is separate a subject from the background, add a colour wash to a wall, or sit visibly in shot as part of the set. Battery power and a phone app for colour and effects are standard. They are also the fastest way to make a room look like every other creator's room, so pick colours that suit the brand rather than the default cyan and magenta.
