White balance

Colour temperature is measured in kelvin, with daylight around 5600K and household tungsten around 3200K. Set the wrong value and everything shifts: too low under daylight reads blue, too high under a bulb reads orange. Auto white balance causes most of the damage in creator footage, because it re-evaluates as you move and can drift mid-take. No grade removes that colour swing cleanly. Lock it, or set it from a grey card. The harder problem is mixed lighting, where a tungsten lamp and a window sit in one room with two temperatures and a single setting to cover both.
