AI-Generated Music

Also called: AI music, generative music, AI-composed music

The tools turn out usable background beds in seconds, and for a creator paying per track that arithmetic is hard to argue with. What you own is the unresolved part. Copyright offices have generally held that work with no human authorship cannot be registered, which leaves an AI track in a weaker position than a licensed one if anybody ever contests your video.

There is separate exposure on the platform side. Music partners can ask YouTube to remove AI-generated music imitating an artist's distinctive singing voice, with carve-outs for news, analysis and criticism.
