APS-C sensor

APS-C describes a sensor around 23 by 15mm, against full frame's 36 by 24mm. The smaller area crops into the image circle a lens projects, so a 35mm lens on an APS-C body frames like a 50mm would on full frame, a factor of about 1.5 on most brands and 1.6 on Canon.

For talking-head filming this means your room feels smaller, since you need a wider lens to get the same shot from the same distance. Depth of field also looks slightly deeper at a given aperture and framing.
