Drone shot

Also called: aerial shot, drone footage

Aerial footage establishes where you are and reveals what the ground camera cannot show. Orbits, top-downs and slow pull-backs are the standard grammar, and the usual fault is flying too fast, since a move that feels gentle on the sticks looks frantic on the timeline. Flying legally in the UK means registering with the Civil Aviation Authority. Any drone with a camera needs an operator ID, and a flyer ID is required from 100 grams upward.
