AI influencer

Also called: virtual influencer, AI persona

An AI influencer has no person at the centre of it. The face is generated, the voice is synthesised, and a team or a single operator writes what it posts and takes the brand money. Some are open about it. Others are presented as real, which is where advertising regulators and platform disclosure rules start to bite. YouTube treats AI personas on sensitive topics as a monetisation category in its own right, alongside generic and repetitive content. For creators the practical question is competitive, since synthetic accounts are cheap to run at volume and the defence is being a person an audience actually wants to spend time with.
