Bonded cellular
Also called: connection bonding, cellular bonding
A bonding encoder holds SIMs from different networks, sometimes alongside Wi-Fi or a wired line, and splits the outgoing stream across all of them at once. If one carrier drops or congests, the others carry the load and the broadcast keeps going. This is how live outside broadcast works without a satellite truck, and kit from LiveU, Teradek and Peplink built the category. The trade is cost and complexity. You are paying for several data plans, the hardware is expensive, and the bonding service usually charges as well, so it earns its place on shoots where going down is unacceptable.
