A customer disputes a transaction with their card issuer, the issuer pulls the funds back, and the seller carries the loss plus an administration fee. Creators meet it on their own product sales, course platforms and merch stores. Two things make it worse than a refund: you lose the fee as well as the sale, and a dispute rate approaching 1% is enough for a payment processor to put your account under review. Clear billing descriptors and fast replies to unhappy buyers prevent more chargebacks than any dispute-fighting tool ever recovers.
