Export preset

Also called: export settings, output preset, render settings

A preset stores the whole export dialogue as one entry: container and codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate mode and target, audio format and colour settings. Build it once and every upload leaves the timeline identically, which removes an entire class of late-night mistakes. The settings worth guarding are the ones invisible in a small preview window. A frame rate that does not match how the footage was shot introduces judder that only shows on motion, and a colour tag set wrongly on log material makes a finished grade look washed out. Keep one preset per delivery target and stop opening the dialogue.
