Hard cut

One frame ends and the next begins. There is no dissolve and no effect. Viewers never consciously register a single one of them. Almost every cut in almost every video is a hard cut. Trouble starts when two shots are too similar, which reads as a jump cut, or when the audio slams over at the same instant as the picture.
