Also called: animated text, text animation
It carries a video on its own where there is nothing to show: audio clips, quotes, explainers, lyric videos, statistics. Done properly, timing does the work. Words land on the beat or the stressed syllable, one idea holds the screen at a time, and movement stops the moment it has delivered the emphasis. Done badly it is unreadable, because text still moving when the viewer starts reading forces them to start again.
