Mobile live streaming

Also called: stream from phone, mobile live

Tap create in the app, choose go live, and the phone does everything. It is the lowest-friction way to broadcast and the least controllable one: no scene switching, no overlays, no capture card, and the picture quality rides on whatever mobile signal you happen to have. Eligibility is where people get caught out, because YouTube applies its own requirements before the option appears in the app, and a channel that can already stream through a desktop encoder may still find mobile unavailable. Check the live streaming section of your own account instead of assuming. Portrait is the usual orientation, which suits a Shorts-shaped audience and rules out most multi-camera setups.
