Motion tracking

Point tracking follows one small high-contrast feature frame by frame and returns position data. Planar tracking follows a flat surface, such as a phone screen or a sign, and returns its perspective too, which is what a corner pin needs to sit an image convincingly into the frame. Creators use it to label objects, blur a face or a number plate, and pin text to a moving hand. Tracks fail when the feature leaves frame, goes soft, or passes behind something, and the repair is usually manual keyframes across the gap. Shooting with the track in mind saves more time than any amount of cleanup afterwards.
