Motion graphics template
Also called: MOGRT, editable template, preset graphic
Somebody builds the animation once, exposes the parts worth changing as controls, and packages the lot. The editor drags it onto the timeline, types a new name into a box, picks a colour and moves on. In the Adobe world the extension is .mogrt, built in After Effects and used in Premiere Pro, and the other editing packages have their own version of the same idea.
For a channel this is mostly about consistency, since every lower third comes out identical whoever cuts the video. Watch the fonts. They have to be installed locally or the text quietly substitutes itself for something else. A heavy template will also crawl on playback.
