Editing & Post-Production

Multicam editing

Also called: multicam, multi-camera edit, multicam sequence

The editor lines the angles up by timecode or by matching audio waveforms, then shows them in a grid. Play the sequence, press a number key for the angle you want, and the software writes the cut. Each one can be trimmed afterwards like any other. It suits anything covered by fixed cameras rolling at once, so podcasts and interviews. The step people skip is preparation: sync breaks when a camera stopped mid-take, so run continuously, clap at the top, and record reference audio on every body.
