Monetisation & Revenue

Payout Schedule

Also called: payment date, payment cycle, when YouTube pays

Earnings on YouTube run on a monthly cycle rather than a live one. Studio shows an estimate that keeps moving for days after the month ends, because invalid traffic is stripped out and advertiser billing settles late. Only once a month is closed and finalised does the balance become payable, and AdSense then releases it on its own schedule, provided the account has cleared its payment threshold and its tax and identity checks. Two effects follow. Money earned in one month arrives well into the next, and anyone budgeting on YouTube income is always spending against work done several weeks earlier.
