Payment Threshold
Also called: payout threshold, 100 dollar threshold, minimum payout
Earnings accumulate in AdSense rather than being paid out the moment they are earned. Once the balance clears the threshold Google sets for your currency, and your address and payment details are verified, the money goes out on the next monthly payment run. Fall short and the balance simply carries into the following month.
Two things trip people up. Verification is separate from the threshold, so an unverified address holds a payment even on a healthy balance. And clearing the threshold mid-month triggers nothing on its own, because payments go out on Google's schedule.
