Re-hook

Also called: rehook, re-hooking

Openings get all the attention. Every section after the first one still has to earn the next minute, and a re-hook is the deliberate line or beat that does it: reopening a question, teasing what is still coming, raising the stakes again. Common forms include naming what you have not covered yet, promising the best example is further in, or cutting to a result before you explain how you got there. The phrase is creator shorthand with no equivalent in YouTube's own vocabulary, so nobody agrees on how many a video needs. Placement is the part to get right. A re-hook that arrives after the drop-off is talking to people who already left.
