Rights holder
Also called: rightsholder, copyright owner, rights owner
Ownership is rarely one name. A single recorded song can involve one rights holder for the composition, another for the recording, a publisher acting for the songwriter and a collection society acting in one country, and a licence from any one of them covers nothing the others control. That is how a track cleared for use somewhere still gets claimed on YouTube. The label matters because only a rights holder, or an agent acting for one, can file a copyright claim, request a takedown or release a claim once it has landed. Filming something yourself does not make you the rights holder for everything inside the frame, since the music, the artwork and the television in shot each have owners of their own.
