Alerts run through a browser source in OBS or Streamlabs, fed by a service listening for events on your channel and firing the matching graphic. They exist to make giving visible. A viewer who spends money gets their name on screen in front of everybody, and that is most of the reason the next person does it. Tune the volume before you need it, and filter the name field, or someone will put something unpleasant in front of your audience.
