Stinger transition
Also called: stinger, animated transition
Streaming software plays a stinger as a video file with an alpha channel or a luma matte. At the moment the animation fully covers the screen, the software swaps the underlying scene, then the animation clears to reveal the new one. OBS and its equivalents ask for that transition point in milliseconds so the change lands while the frame is hidden. Keep them short. A two-second flourish charms once and grates by the twentieth time.
