Strike appeal

Also called: appeal a strike

An appeal sends the decision to a human reviewer, who either reinstates the video and clears the strike or upholds the removal. It applies to Community Guidelines enforcement. Copyright takedowns run on a separate track called a counter notification, which is a legal document and carries legal exposure if you file it without a real defence. Appeals succeed most often where the video was misread, such as educational or documentary footage flagged as the content it was documenting. They rarely succeed as a plea about how much work went in or how badly the channel needs the video.
