Copyright strike
Also called: strike
A copyright strike lands when a rights holder files a formal takedown request and YouTube removes the video. Being a legal action rather than an automated match is what separates it from a Content ID claim, which usually just redirects the revenue. A strike also restricts features such as live streaming. Three copyright or Community Guidelines strikes inside a rolling 90-day window put a channel at risk of termination, so most creators go straight to the claimant and ask for a retraction.
