Take the boards, hold each one for as long as its shot will actually run, drop a rough voice track underneath, and you have a version of the piece you can sit and watch. It exposes what a static board hides: a scene that drags, a joke landing on the wrong beat, a sequence needing two panels where you drew five. Animation studios have worked this way for decades, because redrawing costs almost nothing and re-animating costs a fortune.
