Policy, Copyright & Compliance
Copyright troll
The pattern is volume plus pressure. Rights are acquired cheaply or asserted loosely, automated systems find matches across thousands of videos, and each target gets a demand for a few hundred pounds framed as cheaper than fighting. Most people pay, because disputing costs more in time than the demand costs in money.
Creators meet the behaviour through mass copyright claims and takedown notices, sometimes over a few seconds of background music or a stock clip the claimant does not own. Genuine rights holders exist and most claims are legitimate, so the label belongs to a pattern of behaviour rather than to any single notice.
