High-angle shot
Also called: high angle
Height changes meaning before anything is said. Looking down at someone tends to diminish them, which is why the angle carries vulnerability, a child's point of view, or a room closing in. A low angle does the opposite.
Creators hit it by accident more than by choice. A laptop webcam sits below the face and a phone held at arm's length usually sits above it, so a lot of talking head video is shot at an angle nobody chose. Bring the lens to eye level for a neutral read, and save the high angle for the shots where you want what it says.
