Low-angle shot

Put the lens under eye level, tilt up, and the subject looms. That is why the angle turns up on hero shots, product reveals and anybody meant to look imposing, though the effect is a convention learned from a century of film rather than a fact about optics. The cost is what it does to a face. The jawline softens, the nostrils come into view, and the ceiling ends up in shot with whatever lighting is up there. Most creator footage is accidentally low-angle because the camera sat on a desk, and raising it fixes more than any lens.
