Filming & Production

Outtake

Also called: blooper

Every shoot produces them. The line delivered four times and fluffed four times, the sneeze, the moment somebody rings the doorbell. Most go in the bin. The ones that survive usually run at the end, near the end screen, because a mistake left in tells the audience there is a person behind all the polish. Keep the reel short. That final stretch is also where the end screen is trying to send the viewer somewhere else.
