Elements sit on top of the last stretch of a video and let a viewer click straight into another video, a playlist, a subscribe prompt or an approved link. YouTube allows them only in the final 20 seconds, and the sequence itself has to run between 5 and 20 seconds, so the room for them has to exist in the edit before you ever open Studio. Viewers can also hide the whole panel with a button, which changes nothing about your ability to add one. Designing the shot afterwards is the common mistake. Cards land on top of whatever is in frame, your face included, so leave clear space for them and keep talking over the top, because silence plus a wall of cards is exactly where people leave.
