Ownership conflict
Also called: Content ID ownership conflict
It happens when declared ownership across content owners adds up to more than 100 percent in a territory. Music generates most of them: a distributor, a label and a publisher each registering the same recording, or an old deal that nobody ever unwound.
While the conflict is open the asset cannot be monetised, and claims relying on that reference are held rather than paid out. Nothing resolves on its own. One side has to request an ownership transfer or contact the other through the form in Content Manager, and the money sits in limbo meanwhile. A creator who licensed a track properly and got claimed anyway is often waiting on two parties they will never speak to.
