Paid product placement policy
Also called: sponsored content policy, paid product placements sponsorships and endorsements
Tick the paid promotion box in video details whenever there is a commercial relationship behind what you are showing, whether that is a paid segment, a gifted item you were asked to feature, an endorsement, or an affiliate arrangement. YouTube then shows viewers a disclosure card for the first ten seconds. Videos marked this way are pulled from YouTube Kids, and competing ads may be swapped out.
Some categories are off limits regardless of disclosure, among them adult services, recreational drugs, unlicensed pharmaceuticals, unreviewed gambling sites and hacking tools. Ticking the box does not discharge your legal duty, so local advertising rules still apply on top.
