Content ID asset
Also called: asset
An asset represents the underlying work, a song, a film, a run of footage, rather than one particular use of it. Attached to it are the reference file YouTube matches against, the ownership split including which territories each owner controls, and the policy saying what happens when a match is found: monetise, track or block. When a creator receives a claim, an asset somewhere is what matched. Assets are only editable by partners with Content Manager access, so most creators meet them only as the thing named in a claim notice.
