Privacy complaint

Also called: privacy takedown, privacy complaint process

Only the person shown can file, or a parent, guardian or close family member in defined cases. They have to be uniquely identifiable through a face, a voice, a full name, contact details or something equivalent, and a first name or a fleeting glimpse of a stranger will not qualify. YouTube normally gives the uploader a window to blur, trim or remove the content before reviewing the complaint itself.

Removal is a judgement call. YouTube weighs public interest, newsworthiness, whether the subject is a public figure and whether the information was already public, so filming somewhere public settles nothing on its own.
