Retention dip
Also called: dip, valley
On the audience retention graph the line falls gradually as people leave. A dip is a sharper local fall against that general slope, and it points at a specific moment: a slow explanation, a sponsor read, a joke that landed badly, a section the audience already knew. Find the timestamp, watch the thirty seconds leading into it, and the cause is usually obvious. One caution. The opening of every video shows a steep fall, and that is normal arrival behaviour, so it is not the dip to go chasing. Look at the ones in the middle, where the curve should be steady.
