Shorts Monetization Module

Since January 2023 the Partner Program terms have come in modules: base terms everybody signs, plus optional ones covering watch page monetisation, Shorts monetisation and commerce products. Accepting the Shorts module puts a channel into the revenue share for ads running between Shorts in the feed.

That pool behaves differently. Revenue is collected across all eligible Shorts, music licensing costs come out of it first, and creators keep 45 percent of what is left, allocated by each channel's share of total Shorts views. It makes no difference whether an ad ran beside your particular Short, because payment comes from the pool.
