SRT
Also called: Secure Reliable Transport
SRT recovers lost packets and encrypts the stream as it goes, which lets a usable feed travel over public internet links that would break a plain RTMP push. Remote guests, roving cameras and outside broadcasts use it for the contribution leg, feeding a studio switcher or a cloud production service. YouTube itself does not ingest SRT. Its live ingest takes RTMP and RTMPS, plus HLS and DASH, so an SRT workflow ends at whatever box or service converts the feed and pushes the final stream up.
