Gifts, powered by Jewels, run on vertical live streams in the YouTube mobile app. A viewer buys Jewels, sends a gift, an animation plays over the stream, and the streamer collects Rubies that convert into earnings. It sits apart from Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks. On eligible vertical streams it took over from Super Stickers entirely. Availability is country by country and has widened since launch, so check your own monetisation tab rather than trusting a video made in another market. One restriction catches younger creators: anyone YouTube's age estimation puts under eighteen loses access to gift earnings.
