Auto-dubbing

Also called: AI dubbing, automatic dubbing, auto dubbing

Auto-dubbing is YouTube doing the work that multi-language audio otherwise asks you to arrange yourself. Studio transcribes the video, translates it, and generates a synthetic voice track in the target language, which then sits on the same video as an alternative track. It runs both ways, so an English video reaches other languages and a non-English channel reaches English speakers.

Millions of channels were using it by the end of 2025. The output is a machine voice and it sounds like one. Some audiences mind that more than others, and speaking clearly helps, because the system transcribes plain delivery more accurately and any error at that stage carries straight into the translation.
