Multi-language audio
Also called: MLA, auto-dubbing, dubbed audio track
Multi-language audio puts more than one audio track on the same video. A viewer's language setting decides which one plays, and anyone can switch tracks by hand from the player settings. Because everything hangs off one upload, the video keeps a single URL and a single comment section.
Creators who add dubbed tracks see, on average, a 25 percent rise in watch time from viewers outside their main language. The gains concentrate in channels that dub most of the catalogue: those covering at least 80 percent of their watch time in a given language tend to do better than channels that dub a handful of videos and stop.
