Average watch time per viewer

Also called: watch time per viewer

Average view duration treats every view as a separate event. This figure counts each person once and asks how much time they gave the channel altogether, so somebody who watched four videos in a week arrives as one viewer with a big number attached.

It moves for different reasons than retention does. A channel with ordinary per-video retention and a loyal core can post a high figure, because the same faces keep coming back. Read it beside average views per viewer, the metric Studio actually names, and remember that unique viewers is an estimate stitched together across devices.
