Call to action

Also called: CTA

A call to action names the action and gives a reason to take it. Most creators keep it to one ask per video, on the reasoning that a list of requests hands someone a decision to make instead of an action to take.

Placement is argued about. Some ask early while attention is at its highest, others hold it until the value has landed, and your own channel is the only place that settles it. The toolkit on YouTube is the spoken ask, the description link, the pinned comment, cards and the end screen, and they pull hardest pointing at one destination. Vague endings ask for nothing specific and get it.
