Content ID claim

Also called: automatic claim, Content ID match

Rights holders who meet YouTube's requirements upload reference files, and the system scans new videos for matching audio or video. On a match, the claimant's chosen policy applies: monetise, where ads run and the money goes to them, block, where the video is unavailable in some or all territories, or track, where they only collect the data.

A claim of this kind does not count as a copyright strike and does not affect channel standing, which is the distinction most creators miss when the notice arrives. If the match is wrong or your use is licensed, you can dispute it from Studio.
