Content ID dispute
Also called: dispute a claim, claim dispute
Disputing tells the claimant you believe the claim is wrong, and it starts a 30-day clock. They have four options. They can release the claim, reject the dispute and leave it in place, escalate to a copyright removal request, which takes the video down and puts a strike on the channel, or do nothing at all, in which case the claim expires by itself. Once submitted, a dispute cannot be withdrawn. The ground has to be real: a licence, permission, public domain material, or a fair use or fair dealing argument you could actually defend. Disagreeing with the claim, or having credited the owner in the description, is not a ground.
