Copyright School
Also called: YouTube Copyright School
A strike sits on a channel indefinitely until it gets dealt with. Completing Copyright School starts the clock, and provided the channel has fewer than three active strikes, the strike then expires after 90 days. The course itself is brief: a video explaining how copyright and fair use work on the platform, followed by four questions. Two other routes clear a strike without it, namely the claimant retracting the takedown or a successful counter notification. Creators often assume finishing the course removes the strike there and then. It only makes the 90 day expiry possible, and the strike stays active for that whole period.
